The person is discussing their future career plans, which involve job preparation. They talk about working on a ranch and learning to be a farrier, which involves working on a horse's foot. They learned about the anatomy and problems horses can have in their hooves. They mention being able to help horses walk better. They also mention wanting to become a vet and the importance of showing dedication to the career path. They have chosen jobs that demonstrate their commitment to helping animals. They have been accepted into the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at U of I and plan to get a bachelor's degree in ranch management before attending veterinary school at WSU. So, continuing on with my future career plans, job preparation is a huge part of it. So, I talked about working on a ranch all summer. I also learned to be a farrier, a horseshoer, so we worked on the bottom of a horse's foot. In this job, I learned the anatomy and the problems a horse can have in its hoof. I'm able to manipulate the anatomy by using the horse's hoof through balance and using shoes and trimming certain ways. There's all sorts of ways that I can help the horse just even walk better. As an aspiring vet, taking advice from veterinarians, I was told that in order to get into veterinary school, I had to show that I had the willingness to learn and stick to the career path because they don't want to put people through vet school who aren't going to come out of vet school wanting to be a vet. So, I chose jobs, well, I chose jobs and I am continuing to choose jobs that show I want to help animals for the rest of my life. College preparation, I've been accepted into U of I's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Moving forward, I'll get a bachelor's degree in ranch management and putting emphasis onto the animal sciences to complete all the necessary prerequisites before I get to veterinary school at WSU.
