The British mandate policy initially seemed neutral but ended up favoring Zionism over Palestinian rights. The British colonial power took on mandatory responsibility but eventually wanted to leave, abandoning their duty to administer the mandate. From these documents, British mandate policy started seemingly neutral and promised to protect Palestinian rights whilst implementing a Jewish state. However, there was an obvious increase in pro-Zionist leanings and neglect of Palestinian grievances. British colonial power was initially enforced and took on mandatory responsibility, which can be seen in the 1922 mandate, but by 1948, British evacuation was their main aim, abandoning all accountability and burden of mandate administration.
