This is a conversation between Taylor Jones, the host of the Ghoul Friend Hour, and guests Daryl, Jeff, and Trey. Daryl and Trey are part of the My Haunted Manor USA project, while Jeff is from Diamond State Ghost Investigators. They discuss their backgrounds in paranormal investigations and how they got into the field. Jeff shares a personal experience he had with a possible apparition in his childhood home. They also touch upon the idea that children may be more open to paranormal experiences due to their openness and lack of stress. Overall, they express excitement about their upcoming projects and investigations. Okay, so this is a change, but hey everybody, welcome back to the Ghoul Friend Hour. I'm your, I'm going to say it tonight actually, I'm your host, your ghost host, Taylor Jones. Morgan is also here, but unfortunately she's having some kid issues at the moment. So I'm going to kick it off right over, we have some awesome people here tonight. We have Daryl, Jeff, and Trey. Daryl, if you'd like to introduce yourself first. Yeah, yeah. Hi guys. I'm Daryl Marston here. My Haunted Manor USA, part of the My Haunted Manor Project, which we're super excited about. You might know me from Ghost Hunters and the Horrors of the House of Wills, which I was doing before this. My name is Trey Bader with My Haunted Manor USA from Newark, Delaware. I'm here with my brother Jeff. Hey, I'm Jeff Bader. Yeah, so working at My Haunted Manor and it's been amazing. And yeah, can't wait to tell you guys all about it. Super excited. So unfortunately I'm going to figure out how to come up with the questions because Morgan has all the questions usually. But I guess how we could start out is whoever wants to kind of like talk about the background of what you guys do. Obviously, we know that you guys do paranormal investigations, but kind of like when did you guys start? What intrigued you to get into the paranormal realm? So anyone who wants to, you know. Sure. Don't fight. Yeah. Yeah. Well, sure. I mean, I got into this by complete accident back in 2005 when I actually was invited to an investigation at Fort Delaware where I actually met these two guys just last year. And my first time ever being on an investigation, which I wouldn't even call an investigation. It was more like a tour. I actually witnessed a half-body apparition at the fort and I was hooked. And I just knew from there on I wanted to try to kind of figure out what I saw and to try to recreate it and see if I could capture it again. It led me to, you know, to podcasting, to having my own team at one point. I was podcasting for five or six years. I owned a company called Paranormal Warehouse. And, you know, that took me to Ghost Hunters and did Ghost Hunters. Wrote my book, The Horrors of the House of Lills. And now I'm working with these great guys, man. I can't be more happier. I mean, these guys are just, they're solid. And the people who work behind the scenes and the guys over in the U.K. And basically what started this whole thing was I was over in the U.K. last year for a paracon. I was over there for eight days. And the guys over there, you know, Danny, Harry, and Brett, asked me to do an episode of My Haunted Hotel. At that point, I'd never even heard of it. I knew nothing about it, didn't know what it was about. And kind of just showed up there the night they wanted me to show up. And, man, it was, hit the ground running. So professional. It was done like a, it felt like, you know, I was working back on Ghost Hunters again. It was done so professionally. It wasn't just like a, you know, someone out there with a phone and running around in this haunted location and filming. Very professional. The location was amazing. Couldn't say enough great things about them. When I got back to the States about a week later, you know, we started talking about bringing the whole concept over here to the States. The way they were doing it over there. And it kind of, you know, grew legs. And grabbed these two guys up real quick. Saw what they were doing. Did an event with them back in October. Actually, two events with them over at Fort Delaware for Diamond State. And saw the way they were doing things. And I saw that same attitude in them and professionalism and the way they were doing things and filming. And I knew it was meant to be at that point. And it just took off. And it's funny because how fast this thing has blown up. I mean, and it's just, it hasn't even begun yet, which is crazy to me. It's just, it's going haywire. It's going crazy. We're at the grand opening here in just a few days. It's Friday the 22nd. And people are going crazy. The whole town of Columbia is going crazy over it. It's really cool to see. So, yeah. So, I'll let these guys talk. Yeah. I've been, you know, really into the paranormal since I was a kid. Had some crazy experiences where I saw some things. And I've been kind of chasing that my entire life. You know, trying to prove that I did see that. You know, full body apparitions. You know, told my mom about it. And, you know, she's seen things. And, you know, we've definitely kind of bonded over ghosts and paranormal. And then, you know, ghost shows come out. And, you know, me and Trey are watching ghost shows growing up. And just always been into it and, you know, knew that there was going to be something that we could do with paranormal, with ghost hunting. You know, got into video. And we worked with Diamond State Ghost Investigators out of Delaware. Running the fort during October. And Fort Delaware is actually an amazing place, like Daryl said. We do all their promo videos. And that's where we met Daryl. And I'll let Trey touch on, you know, Diamond State a little bit more. Yeah, so, I mean, like Jeff's saying, I was kind of born into this. The first place, you know, I was, you know, lived at when I was up until two years old was super haunted, apparently. I don't remember. But Jeff and my mom, you know, my sister, they all were super big into ghosts, following that place. So I kind of grew up sharing that interest, you know, following their footsteps. And then about 2019, 2020, I joined Diamond State Ghost Investigators. Such a good team. Such a reputable, you know, respectable team, professional. And they taught me everything. About a year later, I got Jeff in. And then he had his daughter. So it kind of, you know, made things tough for him at that time. But he kept helping out with video and stuff like that for us. And then this past October, met Daryl. And here we are now. So I kind of want to touch upon, I know Daryl had shared one of his first experiences. And Jeff, you said you had some experiences that you had been chasing that kind of jump-started this for you and made you chase after it. So could you talk to us a little bit about that experience? Yeah, definitely. I was definitely an indoor kid. I grew up in Wilmington, Delaware, kind of inner city. You know, played a lot of video games, kind of raised by TV. And I was trying to exercise, and I was running up and down the stairs. And at the top of the stairs, you know, it's painted, burned into my brain, this picture of Jesus, you know, my mother, very religious. And, you know, the painting of Jesus where he's holding his heart, and it's like on fire. It's a very grim painting. Is she Italian? No, yeah, we're German-Irish. Okay, but, I mean, it makes sense. That makes sense. Yeah. So, yeah, I'm exercising, kind of this chubby kid running up and down the steps. Looking at Jesus, I look down the hall, and there's my mom's bedroom, and I can see the doors open. And there's a window there that's right directly down the hall. And I'm running up and down, doing probably about 12 reps. I get to the top, you know, and I just turn my head, and I'm staring at this guy, dark hair, probably like in his 50s, white shirt, just leaning up against the window. So, just kind of like watching me, and I don't really stop. I just kind of see that, clock it, keep going, run down the steps. I'm home alone. I run outside. I look up in the windows, and there's nothing there. Finally go back inside. No sign of anybody, no break-in. And this is a little bit after my mom's brother, Bobby, passed away, and he was living with us for a little while. So, you know, I didn't get a clear look at his face, but it was definitely a person or an apparition. There's no way of explaining a person. So it was definitely wild. I've seen things, seen shadows, heard a ton of things, but I've never seen that apparition again. And I think, you know, this is the place to do it. You know, if I'm going to catch it, it's going to be here on camera. I'm excited. Absolutely. I'm not going to lie. When you started that statement, when you said I was running and I saw Jesus, I was like, bro, me too. I was like, I see Jesus too when I run. If you see me running, you better be running too because it's not a good time. But, yeah, no, I mean, that's crazy. And it's funny that I feel like the more that I do this and the more people that I talk to, it seems like their very first experiences tend to happen in, like, a residential, whether it's their home or, like, the woods near their home or, like, somewhere where they feel, like, super safe and open to it. And so I am always kind of playing with the idea of I think that, you know, going to this theory of the reason that kids see spirits and apparitions so much is the openness to it. Do you feel like, I guess this would be trend towards the skeptics, you know, the people who are in the paranormal community and are investigating, being that you're more open to it and you feel more comfortable with it, do you think that that's why you have more encounters and experiences than skeptics? Does that kind of make sense? I was trying to work on it. Yeah, no, it definitely makes sense. Yeah, I think that as a kid you're definitely more open, you're perceptible, you're, you know, you're just, yeah, you're just open to the universe more. You know, you're not closed off. You're not bogged down with so much, you know, stress and worry. You know, I think if we all had the time and, you know, the space to just relax, we would probably see more things. But, you know, I think it's just the stress of your day and you're just not paying attention. Yeah. That's a good point. I mean, a good point, you know, being like when we're locked down in these locations, like, you know, my home in Manor, you have Sam and Miller, we're focused just on that location and the paranormal activity and the people who are there. And it's easier to concentrate on, easier to focus on, and that's why we capture what we capture. So, yeah, it makes sense. Yeah, I think there's definitely, like, it's just interesting to get so many different perspectives on the way that people from this community, all the evidence that they've gathered, to see how they feel the afterlife kind of works. And kind of also asking that question, kind of a double-sided question to that is, besides just spirits, I mean, what do you guys think about the whole cryptid, extraterrestrial, you know, other dimension kind of beliefs? I mean, what's your perspective and your hot takes on that? I mean, I would say I'm open to anything, you know what I'm saying? Like, I don't think there's any right or wrong answer with any of it. I think some of that stuff, like studying, you know, extraterrestrials and stuff, it's harder to investigate. It's harder to put yourself in the right positions at the right time to find answers. But I'm definitely into all of it. I would love to explore for every avenue, any possibility with it. It's just, yeah. I mean, there's no way aliens aren't real. Right. I agree. That's a no-brainer. The government said so, right? They just released it, so. Yeah. I mean, for us to think that we're the only thing out here in this universe is just, it's asinine. I mean, if we're the best there is, I mean. Yeah. I'm like, no, absolutely. Ancient alien theories and ancient astronaut theories and time travel and, you know, alternate dimensions. You know, I think there's definitely a case to be set for all that. And, you know, the science behind it is starting to catch up to, you know, all the conspiracies. So it's an interesting time. I love this. Go ahead. I was going to say, like, who's to say some of the evidence we capture isn't something from a different dimension or an extraterrestrial, you know? Like, it should never be a foregone conclusion that it's just a sphere. It could be anything. You know, it's what we're chasing. We're trying to find answers, but it's super tough. And I think as technology advances, maybe we'll start getting more definitive answers as to what it is. I think that's an interesting take. I actually have never, in all the interviews that we've done, I don't think I've ever heard somebody say that. It's really interesting. Because I do feel like the paranormal community has been really good about, like, categorizing things and, like, oh, you know, this orb or this mist or, you know, whatever it is that's captured on camera. This is a spirit. This in the woods, you know, is Bigfoot or a cryptid or, you know, a skinwalker or something like that, where I feel like the only time I've really seen the whole, like, ET mixed with cryptids has really been Bigfoot, because people are now kind of talking about how that could be extraterrestrial. So it's just interesting. I kind of also want to now get into, well, I guess get back to My Haunted Manor. So let's talk a little bit about the, we didn't watch the video, like I said, but we saw the title. You said you guys captured an apparition. So, you know, Samuel Miller has been around for, you know, decades, and there's been investigations that took place before it was My Haunted Manor. So this was a piece of evidence that was actually sent to us, and it's a really compelling photograph of what we think is like a three-and-a-half-foot apparition coming out of what we call the kids' room. It was taken about two years ago by a group that was investigating, and what's interesting is we have their actual camera roll and the live photo with Flash that we're going to be taking a closer look at this next episode. But, yeah, that was just sent to us a couple of days before filming, and, you know, we felt like we were talking to a child spirit in the moment and wanted to bring that out just to see what would happen. I did have a response. What do you think, Daryl? Yeah, I mean, it goes back, you know, years and years and years before we ever came there. People talk about child spirits in the building, in the location, and people seeing things and hearing things, and children being caught on EVP, even audibly. To have that sent to us by a fan of the show who actually investigated there, I think it was in 2022. Actually, the first thing we got was a still shot of it, and this was a couple of weeks, a few weeks ago, before the episode was getting ready. We were filming the episode, and then just recently, in the last couple of days, we got the actual video and everything of it sent to us by the person, and it's really cool. I don't think they even realized what they captured in the moment, and it seems like they went back and then they saw it on the video. When you watch it or you actually see the still photo, when you see the still photo like we did, it just sticks out, it pops out. You're not having to look for it. You're not like, you know, like, oh, where is it? It's like a white mist. Right. Very, yeah, and it's about three and a half to four foot tall. It definitely looks like a child, and that's one of the reports, and it's coming out of the children's room, which is very strange, or coincidental, at least. Yeah, it's very interesting, and now we got the video, the cut of it, which is even better. So it's something we'll be exploring in upcoming episodes, but we got some other cool stuff that's been sent to us by fans who have investigated the location all within the last year or two that have captured video and pictures and things like that in the building. So it's starting to come out, people who have investigated there, because the owners opened it up for investigating probably, I'm going to say four years ago maybe. Actually, the whole reason I found out about Samuel Miller was I was actually hired for an event, an appearance there back in 2020, and it was a Halloween appearance, and I went there, did my thing, and then I had a great time, and then last year I came back for another appearance there with Interstate. Interstate Paranormal hired me to come out and do an appearance, and that's when I really started falling in love with the place and getting to actually investigate that night and all the activity we had. So when this all came about for us to film the location, because it wasn't just like we knew we were going to Samuel Miller. So we were looking at different locations on the East Coast, Gettysburg, Samuel Miller, and a couple other spots, even some spots up in New York State. And it was just the one that kept coming back to me. It has the look. It has the vibe. Very active, more active than I even thought it was going to be. As we're seeing these last couple weeks we've been there filming, it's just been like getting crazy, like very active. I mean, it's like you'll be sitting there, and we'll be having a conversation or doing an interview, and you'll hear footsteps running around, or you'll hear a door slam, or, you know, you'll hear an audible voice out of nowhere, like answering the question you just asked Jeff or Trey or you. That's perfect, because that was actually my next question, is the intelligence of the haunting that's kind of going on there. So that's really neat. Very. A lot of mimicking going on. Really? I would add to that piece of evidence, though. It just tells you the importance of when you're doing investigations to take multiple pictures or use that live feed, because us having that live snap of it is so big, because so many people have said could the picture have been tampered with, blah, blah, blah. Of course. Us having that now kind of validates that piece of evidence. So anyone listening that investigates, take multiple pictures or, you know, use that live feature. For sure. Great about my point of manner is when we bring people in there, these groups or individuals, we're helping to train them as well kind to, you know, mold them into better investigators. Not that we don't think they know what they're doing, but there's a certain way we like to do things, especially, you know, the three of us and the people who work behind the scenes and the boys over in the UK as well. We're doing an actual investigation, an actual true paranormal investigation with cameras, static cameras everywhere and minimal equipment as possible and actually just capturing in the moment paranormal activity, not going out trying to provoke, not going out and using like the phone apps and things of that nature, doing professional investigating and trying to capture something so we can show it to the public and also whoever's with us to kind of like, you know, teach them better ways of investigating. That's the best part about this place is that, you know, we really just need to document because it's all there and it's just, it's going off every day. Yeah, absolutely. And so this kind of also segues into my next question. I do feel like certain tools when used during investigations, not to say that spirits have preferences, they may, we don't know, but do you find that a certain method or a certain investigation tool tends to work better at Samuel Miller mansion than say maybe other locations that you've found? Like, have you tried different methods? Do you have one that is kind of tried and true and you feel like you get a lot of evidence with? I can tell you right now, in my opinion, the EDI, like if you get an EDI to go off, you got something. And like, I've investigated all over this country, the UK, and it's, when you get an EDI, it's like very seldom. This place, the EDIs are going crazy. You can have three, four, five of them set up at different rooms and they're all going crazy at different times. If you don't see that, it's like, you just do not see that. It's not like a REM pod or K2 where, you know, a radio wave or, you know, if you're frozen on an airplane, maybe we can set it off or you know, there's interference in the air. EDIs don't do that. So when we're getting EDI hits, that's pretty significant and it's something you want to keep an eye on. And we're getting a lot of that there. I would say wherever you're not looking as well, because this past Friday, this past Friday we investigated and we were up on the third floor. Something would go off on the second floor. We went down there. Nothing went off on the third floor while we were up there. But when we were on the second floor, that started going off. It was like playing games. I mean, we literally played Marco Polo. Yeah. Y'all got like team Fitbits. You gotta track yourself, man. These girls got you running, huh? I was watching, you know, listening to a podcast about Fitbits and, you know, that could be an interesting thing to bring on later is, you know, if you're having a personal experience or you get touched, you know, how does your body react to that? Fitbit could capture that data. Just something else to back up these claims. I've never heard that before. Yeah, I actually did that. Your heart rate? Yeah. I used to wear a Fitbit all the time. And this is like when they first came out 10, 12 years ago. And I used to wear them on investigations and, you know, you would get spikes when certain things were going on your Fitbit, like your heart rate would, you know, would increase. Or if, you know, certain equipment would go off, you know, if you're using like, you know, people were using spirit boxes and things of that nature, your Fitbit would actually react to your body's reaction to that. It was pretty wild. Darryl, I gotta ask you, were you wearing a Fitbit when you got thrown across the room? You know, I can't remember. I probably was because that's right around, this is like 2014 or 2015 when that happened. So, yeah. Dude, my heart rate would be. I don't know how you do it, man. You have had some experiences. I give you kudos. That's so cool, though. That's one cool thing about being a member. I mean, it's bringing me back. Like, because paranormal, you know, you have all these great experiences, and sometimes it gets really dull for a while. You investigate these locations that are like, not to say they're not exciting, but they're just, you've been there, you've done it before. And then Sama Miller brought that back out in me, that love for investigating. I haven't had that in a while because it just, I haven't been to locations like that. And I'm not saying the locations I've been to were bad or anything. I just wasn't, like, in the moment experiences like we're having. I mean, it just, it seems like the experiences we're having happen at the most crazy times when you're not expecting them to happen. You're just talking, you know, which is great. You know, we're having a conversation, or we're doing an interview, and things just pop off and start going crazy. And that's what I love about it. You never know what's going to happen at my haunted manor. You just don't. You just have to record constantly. You do. You have to, because if not, you're going to miss some crazy evidence. Well, it's a good thing, then. I'm, like, I'm feeling very grateful that I thought to order extra GoPro batteries because I was, like, thinking about it. I'm, like, what else do I need to bring with me? And I was, like, you know what? We know how the spirit world is. We know that they like to drain our stuff. I'm, like, let's pack extra, extra batteries so we can get all the footage and check everything out. I'm excited. There's a lot of batteries that get drained. Yeah. Do we have, like, a time average on that? I'm, like, I have time. I have time to prime, you know, order some more batteries if I need them. But, yeah, I'm excited. I think that for our first investigation, to kind of hear all these really exciting things that are happening, you know, even if, like, we, like you said, we're on the third floor, something happens on the second floor, whatever it is, just to feel that energy, like, I just feel like you know, and that's kind of what I wanted to ask you guys about, too, is, like, when you walked into Samuel Miller Mansion, could you, like, is it palpable? Because I feel like there's locations, like, when I've been, like, my husband loves Gettysburg, and we are always going to different locations there, and I just feel like there are some places that when you walk in there, your heart starts to beat a little faster. You just, you feel, you know. So does it have that kind of air to it? Yeah, for me, it does. Yeah. For me, it was the third floor. I went up there the first time, and I got really dizzy. It was just an energy shift. And last weekend, I separated, went downstairs just to, because things were going off on different floors. And, Trey, you said, you were talking about that energy shift up there. Yeah, so you were up there at one point with me, right, when we were feeling, it was like just an energy change in the room. It wasn't like a cold draft. It was just like this weird. It felt like the room was spinning. Yeah, it was weird. And Tony, who was with us that night, he got, like, actually really dizzy. He had to sit down. But it was something that I don't think I've ever felt before during an investigation. I've never felt cold drafts, but I've never felt a complete shift in the energy in the room, like that intense. It was pretty great. Yeah. I have a small addict, too, that has that effect on me, too. Yeah, I'd say about, like, every room in that location, there's a different type of energy to it. The blue room has been getting really crazy active lately. I've seen a lot of stuff in the blue room, shadow figures and shadow anomalies and things of that nature. And it was, like, a real hot spot for us this past weekend, the blue room, which we really never heard much about things happening there. For anyone who doesn't know, we haven't named that room, like, officially yet, but there's the two chairs, and then it's a lamp in between the chairs with the blue light. We don't have a camera set up in there yet, but we had a lot of activity happen this past weekend. Yeah, it's just like there's a weird energy about it. There's an energy about almost every spot, every room, every part of that building that you can't just put your finger on. And I say the third floor is, like, yeah, definitely the one where you don't feel at ease. Definitely the third floor. Yeah. That's why you're saying I should avoid that floor. There's a room. This is why me and Taylor are so yin and yang. Because Morgan will go on that floor. I will not go on that floor. Yes. Well, you know, I'll tell you guys something that I haven't even told Taylor, and I was waiting for this moment to talk to you guys about it. So I don't know how you guys feel about psychic mediums, things like that. So, like, ever since I was little, I still, the whole reason I started this podcast was mainly on this kind of journey, just kind of trying to define, you know, what my gifts are, kind of why I've seen things the way that I've seen them since I was younger. And it's funny because I, like, haven't really had any dreams. And honestly, like, I really shouldn't say, like, I haven't really been nervous. I think I've been maybe a little too excited to go this Friday. I'm like, Taylor's over here. And she's like, Morgan, we're going to chill out. And I'm like, oh, I'm like, what are we getting our hands into? Where are we going? You know? And I had this crazy dream. And it was like, it felt like it was like a warning, but it wasn't scary. And it was just like my grandmother, and she was just kind of like, be careful. Tread carefully. Like, don't be overzealous. And then I saw, like, it was, like, very dusty, very cementy. And it was just, like, very empty. And I don't know. It's weird because it's like I can see it in my head. I can't paint it because you guys are going to be like, oh, yeah, that's a very unique room, Morgan. That totally, you know, tells me what kind of room that is. Yeah. That's every room. Yeah. I almost wanted to say, like, a basement. Like, it reminded me of, it was just a lot of cement. But there was, like, I keep going like this because I could feel, like, dirt in between my feet. And it was a very dim light. Like, I don't know if it's one light bulb with, like, one of those old school pull strings. And it was like, so I just, she just said, just tread carefully. Be very, just aware. And, like, you know, just protect yourself and whatever, whatever. And so I thought it was funny because I haven't had a dream in forever. And this is my first investigation. My first, like, I'm going into a haunted location. Like I said, we've tried to stay very unknowing of everything that's going on. You know, obviously, we've heard some from you guys. But I started to get a little nervous after that dream. And I was like, so I asked a couple of my friends who are sensitive. And they were like, sometimes before you go to haunted locations, you will get warning dreams. You'll get, you know, then that's just basically, like, if they know you're coming or something like that. And so I thought it was interesting. And so I kind of wanted to see if you guys had had any similar experiences. Like, did you guys either before visiting the location or after being there, did you have any strange dreams or strange happenings outside of, you know, being at the location? I can, not there. But I know what you're talking about. I had the same types of dreams for House of Wills when I was there. Yeah. Before I went there. So, yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about. You know, warning. Basically, watch it. Tread lightly. Watch what you're doing. Don't, you know, don't step where you shouldn't be stepping type thing. Yeah. So, yeah, I can, I understand what you're talking about. But, no, I'm not a Samuel Miller. But I can tell you, Samuel Miller has, or, you know, my own manner has the potential to, I wouldn't say a dark potential, but it does have a potential to scare the shit out of you. Yeah. Yeah. That's, that's the feeling that I got. And so, like I said, I don't know any background. But it was for my grandmother of all people. She always tends to come through. Not for me, but for, like, any time I visited, like, and, you know, worked with a mentor or a psychic. So, when she came through, I was like, oh, shit. I was like, that's not good. I'm like, she's, you know, she's a bad mamma jam. I was like, that's not a good thing. And so, I was like, all right, we got to be a little, a little less overzealous. But I just, you know, I just think that when you have a place with that much energy, you tend to wonder, too, if there's a portal there. I mean, how do you guys feel about that concept? I don't have a dog in the fight on that one. Because I can't prove or disprove it. True. Yeah. Just like psychics, I can't prove or disprove them. So, I really don't. I mean, I've had, I've met really, really, really good psychics who tell you stuff that there's no way they can know. I have ones that say they are good and are not. And they're just out to pick a box. Absolutely. But, yeah, I don't know. I'm sure portals can exist. But I just, like I said, if I can't, when I investigate, I try to keep it down to earth. I don't believe in crossing over and stuff like that. You see people who can go, say, go in and cross over spirits and things of that nature. I keep it, try to keep it very scientific. What I can prove, what I can disprove, what I can capture on audio or on video, yeah, and something that is tangible that you can bring to the public, I can't. I can't say, oh, there's a portal up in the magic window room. I can see it with my mind, but I can't show you. Yeah. Yeah. It's not my thing. Yeah. But I think that's realistic, though, especially because there are a lot of skeptics in the paranormal field. And when you have those people that tend to fake evidence or they tend to kind of, what's the word I'm looking for, like fluff it up, it does make a bad name. So I think that it gives you guys more credibility for you guys to kind of stick to the facts and be able to kind of lay on the table what you can prove. I got into this by complete accident. It's not like I went looking to get into the paranormal. It was an accident. I didn't even really want to go on this investigation thing that I did. And I went kind of like my mom wanted to see someone to go with her, so I went and I fell in love with it after what happened because I was very intrigued by it. And I always thought it was really cool, the whole paranormal thing, but it was not my thing. And so when I approach something, I'm not going out there and making up stories and talking about this and that that I can't prove. For me, I'm a very visual person. I have to see it. I have to physically see what it is you're telling. People can tell me all the good stories they want and I'll believe them. It's not that I don't, but I need to be there and I need to experience it and see it with my own two eyes or be in the moment where I can prove or disprove what's happening. Yeah, absolutely. With how you're feeling with this investigation prior to this event, the nervousness, I think a good practice for any investigator to have is to find some kind of protection beforehand. For me, I'm religious. I wear this. It's Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. I say a prayer before any investigation. Debbie on Diamond State Ghost Investigator, she's a medium. What she does is she casts a bubble, a white light around herself and around everyone else on the team. There's different ways to protect yourself, whether it's just in your mind or whatnot, whatever practice. I think it's a good way to go into an investigation with a mindset that you're going to be safe and protected. Yeah, absolutely. I think another thing that I was really interested to hear you guys say, so I think it was Daryl that had touched upon how, well, I think it was all of you, all the different rooms kind of have their own vibe, right? I feel like my interpretation of that is that that sounds like a lot of spirits kind of inhabiting the area because I would think that one spirit would kind of carry its own vibe to it and bring that to separate rooms. With the children spirits that you believe are at this location, do you guys tend to maybe do things for each vibe? What I mean by that is for children spirits, do you leave toys to kind of get that interaction? Or if you think that you have maybe an older female at the location leaving, I don't know. I've seen in some investigations they leave old compact mirrors or little things that kind of say, hey, we're here to interact with you. And if you have, what has that experience been like? If you walk through the property, there's stuff that's been left over the years. And as a matter of fact, it used to be a toy factory at one point. So there's still like little toys here and there throughout the actual building that you can find in walls and down in the basement and things of that nature. So, yeah, as far as like multiple spirits there, I don't know. You can't put a number on that. I think there is a lot of residual energy there as well as one or two intelligent ones that will, they will actually have pretty much a conversation with you if they can. And I can't say there's a hundred spirits there. I can't say there's five or ten. I know there's something there. I know there's residual energy there because we hear and see it all the time in that building, just on EVPs and things of that nature. But I do know there is definitely something intelligent there as well. And we kind of, in the last two investigations we've been there, we've ran into it. It's starting to open up to us and starting to have, you know, kind of warm up to our presence. It's kind of playing with us a little bit, to be honest with you. It's having a good time. Yeah, we're doing more deep dives into the history. You know, we haven't found any confirmed deaths that are on the property. But, you know, with all of this disease that kind of went through Columbia in the 1800s, and then there was a feed mill at one time, and there was a feed mill in the basement that was super dangerous and a steam engine, and there had to have been accidents and deaths along the way that we're trying to uncover to, you know, help some of these claims. You know, and there's investigators that have gone through that are telling us, you know, things like, oh, there's a spirit there named David, and he loves Rush. You know, he's a teenager. It's like, I don't know how you come across this, but hey, let's play some Rush and see what happens. It's like, hey, fuck off, man, right? I'm open to, you know, experimenting with anything and seeing what happens and just keeping track of all that data, you know. You know, if every night at 11 p.m. this, you know, knock happens, you know, that's interesting to keep track of. Yeah. The building has worn many hats over the last 200 years. It really has. It's been a many different things. It held a really big part in the Underground Railroad and the starting of the Underground Railroad, so that's a lot of history there, too. The Bridger Bank Company, with the burning of the bridge there right before the Battle of Gettysburg, that actually diverted the whole Confederate Army to Gettysburg because they were supposed to go into that town and take that town into Harrisburg. Well, they burnt the bridge down to divert them, and a few days later is when Gettysburg happened. So it would have never happened, and that bridge is right next to the building. Literally, it's within, like, 200, 300 yards of the building. Then you've got the Underground Railroad, where there's still traces of that in the basement of the building and other parts of the building. There's a room in the attic. There's a small attic in what they call the service quarters that has a room that looks like a safe room. It's got a lock from the inside. It's a small room. Have it figured out. And look, we have a historian for us. We have people who are researching and trying to find factual evidence for us to go back and say, okay, John, Dick, and Harry died here. It's not just there's rumors of David dying here. There's rumors of George dying here or this woman died in childbirth. Right now, there's no factual evidence of that stuff happening. I'm not saying it didn't happen because back in the 1800s, it may have not been documented. So it's something we're trying to put real names to what's there and prove without a shadow of a doubt that so-and-so passed away here. And just because if we ever do find out that no one ever passed away, it doesn't mean it's not haunted. Spirits can come and go. I mean, that's in my experience of seeing locations and being in locations where people— I've been in brand-new houses that were just built that had activity and no one had ever died there. Yeah, that really doesn't mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, but it's nice to be able to actually bring the history, the real history of what happened there, not just for us, but for the owners, for the town. Because this thing has grown so big and it's grown legs that it's actually branched out to different parts of Columbia. So it's not just my Haunted Manor USA, the Samuel Miller building. We're actually investigating other locations in the town of Columbia now because we have other locations reaching out to us, people with activity. And now we're trying to build this web of connecting the dots, and it's rooted out so far. Matter of fact, it's grown with the community and the leaders in the community so much. I'm going up there next Tuesday to do a talk to their board of conversant or whatever they call themselves up there. So it's really grown, and the people of the town are really getting behind it and wanting to know. And it's brought eyes to the town of Columbia, which is really cool. That is really neat. I would add something about the trigger object idea you said. There is a lot of artifacts in the building, whether it's toys or clothes from the 1800s. What's really cool is the guys from My Haunted Hotel in the U.K., they took some toys and some clothing back with them to the U.K., to the hotel, and they have a museum that, for the most part, has been quiet. But since they got back and they put the toys and the clothing into the museum, it's been pretty active. That whole room has been kind of spiking a little bit with activity. So I think there's definitely some energy that lingers within the artifacts at the location. Oh, I'm geeking. That's so awesome. Isn't that cool? Yeah. That's really cool. Yeah, it's cool to bounce back and forth between those guys, what they're doing, and trying some things out. They use a piece of equipment called the Paracast, and now we have that, and it's basically a spirit box kind of customized. But it's very interesting because they designed it to specs using British phonetics. But when they brought it here, the same program was giving out American voices, which they'd never heard until they got here. So how that's possible. But it's definitely a piece of equipment we want to learn more about and test more. They had some really good EVPs come through there. Over the weekend, last weekend when we were filming, it would tell you when you had that thing running for five or ten minutes, the whole energy of the building changed. It really did. It felt different in there, and it was really neat to see that energy. We started getting dizzy upstairs, the three of us, and then Jeff, you're downstairs, and the EVIs are going off between us. Yeah. Yeah, it's a really cool piece of equipment, and we definitely need to learn more about it. They've been using it for a while over there. And the cool thing is, it's unique to just the Miami Havana project, the Miami Havana hotel. So no one else has this tool. You can't go watch anybody else doing it. You have to see us using it, which is really unique. That's what's going to set you apart. That's awesome. That's pretty kick-ass. Yeah. We're thinking of either beginning or ending each night with guests as a session with this Paracast. Maybe begin the night if it's going to kick up, stir it up for us for the night. Good idea. One thing it does, that I know it does, is it pumps out Hertz frequencies and white noise, and that reverberates off the walls and floorboards. Once we use that, once we kick that on on Friday night, the whole building did a 180, and it woke up. Yeah, it did. It really changed the atmosphere of the whole location, which is interesting to watch that. I don't know if it was coincidence, but it really did. It's going to be neat to try that at all our big events, and we're filming at least one part of the episode every time we film, and using the Paracast and see how it reacts to what's going on in the building and different locations in the building. I can't wait to see that in action, because that sounds really neat. You'll see it Friday night. No Friday. Don't make my heart palpitate, Daryl. Oh my gosh, I'll be so excited to see that. It's neat to watch, because the Paracast, I mean, I can kind of correlate it with the EDI. A lot of people don't know this, but on Ghost Hunters, we introduced the EDI to paranormal. We were the first people ever to use EDI. You go to any investigation, and people have them now. So will that be the same thing with the Paracast in five years, four years? Who knows? But it's cool to watch that, where you're the only person who has that piece of equipment and are using it in the paranormal field, and getting the results we're getting from it are pretty interesting. Yeah, 100%. I can't wait to see that, because that's going to be so cool. I wanted to ask you guys, so as far as the Estes method, it was something that I was kind of toying with possibly doing at this location while Taylor and I are there. Thoughts? Yeah, I think that's a great idea. I like the double-blind Estes. I don't know if you guys have ever done that. No. Listen, we have not done anything. Taylor's probably like, Morgan, I had no idea you were going to say that. I'm surprised you did a lot of stuff. I thought it'd be cool, since we're brothers, if there was any connection or what comes out of us being under the same audio and what we can pick out. I want to do this with you guys doing it. Holding hands. Different floors of the building. One of you in the basement and one of you on the third floor without the cameras on you. Because we have cameras in both locations. We can sit there and watch it, and we can hear what you're saying and what you're saying. If there's correlation and something's responding. Because a lot of times when you see it done, it's done within the same room or within a percentage of that same room. I want to see it where you guys are a couple hundred yards apart. That's my one. We can do it. We'll put Morgan on. We can do it. I'm going to say right now, Taylor, the basement is no better than the third floor. I'm not going to the basement. At least I'm not going to the basement alone. Listen, after living at my grandparents' house and having to do laundry in that basement, I am a seasoned vet. I can do this. I'm going to go down to that basement, and I'm going to put this Estes method to the test. Taylor, we can do this. Listen, I'm not going to lie. I saw things as a kid, okay? And Morgan knows. I've seen a lot of things. But I'm still scared, okay? Yeah. So not knowing, that scares me. I just think it's funny that, like, as somebody who's afraid of the dark, even as, like, an almost 30-year-old, that I contradictory, like, love and, like, want to do the Estes method where I'm, like, completely blindfolded. I have no senses. No, yeah. I think you definitely should. Yeah. I think it's about locking in your senses and listening and, you know, the fact that you can't hear what they're asking validates the responses that you're giving, you know. There's no manipulation play where if they ask, what's your name, and if you hear something that could have been a name but could have been something different, but you say the name because that's what she asked. I think the whole, you know, the Estes method helps with that, to validate the answers that you're giving. So I like it. Sweet. Sorry, Taylor. So sorry. It's okay. It's going to be great. We'll keep an eye on you. We'll keep an eye on you. You guys will be fine. You guys will be fine. You're like, where's Taylor? Oh, she gets to do that. She's fine. It's fine. We're just going to see Taylor's feet just being slowly drived across the floor. I'll be like, it's all right. We'll get her later. She's fine. Jeff, get over. Oh, my gosh. I seriously can't wait because it just sounds like there's going to be a lot of fun. Fun? Fun. We'll say fun for now. It'll be fun. It'll be fun. Fun for now. Yeah, it's going to be great. If we're allowed to answer this. So how is this grand opening going? So, like, what is the – I guess what's the plan? So how does this all work? Well, basically, I mean, the grand opening that day, we have a lot before it even opens to the public going on radio show. Then we have to do ribbon cutting and, you know, making sure everything's set up and ready to run. Floor's open at 6. The event starts at 7. And, you know, it's basically going to be a Q&A, meet and greet type thing for the first, you know, hour maybe, just answering questions and things of that nature and kind of laying down the ground rules. So you guys will be paired with interstate paranormal people. You know, there'll be people there to help get you to locations and things of that nature. And they do all the stuff behind the scenes for us, like running the events and things of nature while we're in the actual camera room watching what's going on at these bigger events. Like, you know, these main events we do every month, which will be running every month. There'll be one large event. And then there's the regular bookings that people can just come in the middle of the week or on a night that we don't have, you know, a major event and then just investigate. So it'll be that. We'll be, you know, breaking people off into teams going off into your location and, you know, you'll all have walkie-talkies where we'll switch you at a certain time, whether it be 45 minutes or an hour, we're not sure yet, and get you to a new location. The place, you know, if the area you're in is going crazy and you're having stuff, we'll let you just hang out for a while. There's no rush to that, but it'll be, it's well, you know, it's all well put together and we have a good game plan on how we're going to move forward and move the teams around. And that way everybody gets a chance to go to every part of the building and investigate and to have a good time and just enjoy yourselves. Oh, man. It's going to be great. I think this is honestly, this could quite possibly be the best thing to hit the East coast. I'm very excited. Like I just, in my opinion, and I'm sure the boys can back me up on this. I think it's something that's not being done, especially here in the States. The guys, the UK guys have been doing it for a couple of years now and, you know, very successful over there with it. And this is something new. It's a, I call it a one-stop shop because you got the location where people can actually come and investigate, either book it themselves and stay the night or come to one of the big events we do every month and be part of the show where you're actually on camera being part of the show. Everyone will have to sign waivers beforehand. There's merchandise there. There's, you know, the meet and greet of, you know, with the three of us you get to work with interstate people with us as well, you know, throughout the night. So it's, it's all a lot. It's, it's not been done. Um, I, I can't honestly say, yeah, I was like, I can't, I can't say that I've, I've seen this done. So I think it's going to be, it's honestly going to sleep the East coast and it's just going to be, it's going to captivate people. So, I mean, I can't wait till he finally, not that I don't want this investigation to be over because I'm so excited for it, but I want to watch your videos. And like, this is the hardest part about like, I want to look stuff up so bad. I know. I think you guys look stuff up. It's not going to ruin it for you. If you watch the three episodes. I want to see what like I can pick up. Cause this will be the first time that I'm kind of going into it and trying to kind of rely on, well, obviously if we do the SS method, um, we'll have that, but also just kind of tuning into that, you know, what I want to call it. Um, and just seeing what I pick up and I'm going to try and, uh, freehand, uh, that's kind of like my thing is just free handing notes and seeing what I pick up. And then, you know, on top of the actual physical evidence and seeing if anything matches or makes sense. We'll talk about this place too. It's, it's, it's coming to the port where it's becoming an attraction. People are stopping by there when we're not even there, not filming and asking the owners, they can come in and see where we filmed. And the things we were doing, uh, he's got that happening all the time. Now, uh, he's come, come, you know, Rowdy has become a star in his own right. Uh, he's, he's, he's, he's part of it or him and I ain't, he said his name is Rowdy. I love it. I like that. Spicy doesn't make sense. After you meet him, he's got, he's got, he's got, he's got, oh, okay. What, what kind of sorcery? What kind of sorcery? Did you just do Darryl? What was that? I don't know. What do you think? I like this. I feel like, okay, do we have SpongeBob fans here? Any SpongeBob fans? I don't know what that is. He just did like the imagination hands. Imagination? Yeah, he did the rainbow. But you'll see, he, like I said, Rowdy's got his own entourage. He has Stoner and Sarah and, and Bean. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage. He's got his own entourage.
