Today we'll be interviewing my sister Bridget Sher about her degree path, how she got there, and the struggles she may have had on the way. Bridget is a current senior at Loyola University, Maryland, on the pre-med track with a chemistry major. She's applying for medical school to become a doctor, with entry being fall of 2025, and is interested in pediatrics, women's health, and dermatology as of right now. Her original intention was to use her chemistry major to go into the pharmacy field on the pre-PA track, taking the PCAT last summer. She was a pharmacy technician this past summer at a CVS near home, working closely with pharmacists and patients to dispense and label prescribed medications. Bridget studied abroad this past spring to Rome, and is still on track to graduate with a pre-med focus, taking the MCAT this summer, and applying for medical school in the fall. Today we will be going into how she chose this career path, among others, the resources she used to research career paths, and how she will choose a specialty to go into.
