The Los Angeles Lakers are currently struggling in the Western Conference. One problem is their inconsistent starting lineup. They have also had issues with the players they picked up in the offseason not performing as expected. However, D'Angelo Russell has been playing well, Austin Reeves deserves more minutes, LeBron James has been consistent, and Anthony Davis is their best player. To fix their problems, the Lakers should target guards like Dejounte Murray or Zach LaVine in trades. What's good y'all it's Jono back from Top Boss Central and in today's video we're to be going over the Los Angeles Lakers and why they're currently 10th in the Western Conference right now and also going over what they can do to fix some of their problems to help them become contenders because they're in a rough spot right now and it all starts with their head coach Darvin Hamm who's currently in his second season right now and things are not looking good for him and one problem I'd like to bring up that I believe is hurting this team right now is their starting lineup and how it changes almost every few games and it's just very inconsistent. For example, Hamm started D'Lo, Reeves, Prince, LeBron and AD in their previous game versus the Nets at home which they lost in but just a week ago their lineup consisted of almost the same thing but D'Lo got tooken out in that game and even Austin Reeves has came off the bench a lot this season and plenty of other guys as well and they haven't really had a set lineup to get to you know be able to play with all season for real and another problem that the Lakers have had is the players they picked up in the offseason really haven't panned out the way anyone really expected because they were getting Gabe Vincent who just came off a great playoff run with the Miami Heat and was really just a solid role player last year he just has not worked out for them because he's only appeared in just five games this year and has had to get a knee surgery and they also did pick up Christian Wood this past offseason whose minutes really have just been inconsistent and in some games he just looks like the guy that they saw whenever they was signing him and other games he just really doesn't play up to standard but they got Wood for a really good cheap contract only really having to pay him 5.7 million for two seasons which is a steal honestly and for a rotational piece I mean it's not that bad and also they picked up Torian Prince who I think has been really solid and gets the Lakers at least 10 a night consistently and they also picked up Cam Reddish who really hasn't been that good and he's just really been terrible and he's played plenty of games where he doesn't really even drop a point or get a basket and they also do got Jackson Hayes who hasn't done anything and it's really played in garbage time this season but let's dive into some of the main guys on this team and my opinion on them starting off with D'Angelo Russell who I'd say has played some really solid games but has been really inconsistent at times like one game versus the Timberwolves his old team he put up five points then four games later he puts up 39 but one thing that I don't like is how one game he'll play almost 40 minutes then another game he plays in just 18 that's really just another L on Darwin Hamm's part but D'Angelo has been really solid in his past five games for them and now let's move on to Austin Reeves who this month he's played a lot more minutes consistently than ever this year and he's putting up 15 points a game while shooting 49 from the field and I definitely do think he deserves to keep playing the minutes he's getting right now with the team because I mean he was just getting inconsistent minutes and I do believe he is a starter on this team and now transitioning to LeBron who's actually been pretty consistent this year in terms of playing games and he's only missed four games this year which is way better than last season because of all the injuries consistently keeping him out for the past three years now but he's on pace for a very healthy season and that's probably one of the best things about this year is the health of AD and LeBron and this year LeBron is putting up about 25 points a game and he shoots 52 percent from the field which is great considering his age and now let's talk about Anthony Davis who's been their best player by far this year and has only missed two games which is great for AD and he's already played more games than his 21 to 22 year and is on pace to play the most games that he's played since his pelicans days and this season AD has put up a bit over 25 points a game and shot 55.7 percent from the field but yeah man AD is on a great run this season and he is a top 10 MVP candidate right now I would say personally um and Anthony Davis is looking very healthy like I said and now I kind of want to dive over to what the Lakers are doing wrong and how they can fix it but I just believe if this team wants any contention of you know making it anywhere in the playoffs or even making it to the playoffs they need to go for a two-way type of guard I believe to help this team out especially like a shooting guard to fit right in this to this team so I think there's two players that the Lakers should target starting off with the first player being the guard from Atlanta that is in high trade talks right now being DeJounte Murray he seems like a primary trade target for this team and I just think that he would be a perfect fit especially what he provides on the offensive end and the defensive end because they need it and DeJounte Murray has been on an absolute tear for the Atlanta Hawks over the past week so the asking price for him is definitely on the rise right now and I heard that Atlanta did ask for Austin Reeves but the Lakers have continued to show no interest in trading him but if I was the Lakers I wouldn't give Austin Reeves up neither because he has a bright future ahead of him and another player that they could try to target is D'Angelo Russell because I mean he has like perfect value to get traded and I would like throw him and maybe yeah at least put in Vanderbilt or Reddish because them two have not been consistent and they really can't shoot especially Vanderbilt he won't provide the Lakers with what they need and that is shooting and I would definitely throw like Cam Reddish in there because he's been very bad for this Lakers team and maybe he'll do a little bit better going back to the team that he used to play for maybe going into it with a new head coach he might be a little bit better I don't really know but if the Lakers could pull this off and actually pick up Dejounte Murray without giving too much this that would help this team a lot but it was honestly a little too tough to make a complete trade for this team and to make it fair for both sides so I don't really know what I would do but I guess we'll see and I think Dejounte Murray would be the perfect target to go for and if they can't get Dejounte Murray another player that I would target right after Dejounte is Zach Levine because I feel like Zach Levine is another great target to try to trade for you know before the trade deadline and if the Lakers can get either one or two of these guys it would help them a lot more especially if they can get them for a steal and you know give up some of the players that have just been pretty bad for the team but let me know down below in the comments what you guys think and do you guys think they should go for Zach Levine or Dejounte Murray let me know and as always make sure to like and subscribe and turn on post notifications and I'll see y'all in the next one I'm out
