CVS needs to enhance its physical security to prevent shoplifting. Recommendations include using electronic article surveillance tags on high-value items, installing security gates at entrances and exits, using surveillance cameras, employing plainclothes loss prevention agents, and implementing a two-part entryway system. These measures will deter shoplifters and protect merchandise. Our first step will be to assist CVS in implementing enhanced physical security measures, which are crucial to deterring shoplifters and protect merchandise. We recommend the following. First, the adoption of electronic article surveillance, EAS tags. EAS tags will be attached to high-value merchandise. These tags will trigger alarms when stolen items pass through security gates. Second, install security gates at store entrances and exits to detect EAS tags and prevent shoplifters from leaving with stolen items. Third, install surveillance cameras to monitor the store activity and record incidents for potential legal action. Fourth, employ plaincloths loss prevention agents to discreetly monitor stores, especially during peak hours and seasons. And lastly, implement a two-part entryway system that allows for lockdown mode, preventing shoplifters from escaping once the alarm is activated.
