Joseph Landry and Sheldon Olford are former evangelical ministers turned law enforcement officers. Lori, a retired police officer, had a crisis of faith after witnessing terrible crimes. He wrote a book called Let Us Descend, which explores the ancient alien theory. The book compares the biblical story of creation with the Enuma Elish, an ancient text that describes the planets as gods. The collision of two planets created Earth and explains its unique characteristics. Zachariah Sitchin, a historian, found evidence of a celestial body called Nibiru in ancient tablets. He believed the ancient Sumerians had knowledge of planets that were not discovered until much later. The Sumerians may have possessed this knowledge due to contact with extraterrestrial beings. These beings, called Anunnaki, mined gold on Earth and may have influenced religious traditions. The Bible portrays God as a flesh and blood being, which could be interpreted as an extraterrestrial. Joseph has over 15 years of experience and currently works as a police detective. Lori on the other hand is a retired police officer and detective with extensive experience in responding to and investigating crimes. Lori's upbringing in a Pentecostal home influenced his strong Christian faith, which lasted for over 21 years. However, his perspective changed when he encountered horrific crimes during his investigations. These experiences led him to question the existence of a beloved deity and why such evil acts are allowed to occur. As a result, he wrote his first book, titled Let Us Descend, The Biblical First Contact, which delves into the engrossing discussion of the ancient alien theory. The Christian story in Genesis provides a concise account of the origins attributing to the creation to God. It states that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. However, it doesn't explain his specific details regarding the when, why, or how of creation. In contrast, the Enuma Elish offers a different perspective on the creation of the solar system. It refers to the planets as gods and describes a sequence of events. According to this narrative, the sun, Mercury, and a planet named Tiamat were initially present, followed by the appearance of other planets. The story takes a turn when another planet, referred to as Marduk or Nuremberg, entered the solar system. Marduk ultimately collided with Tiamat, splitting her into two parts. One half shattered and formed the asteroid belt, while the other half was sent into a different orbit, becoming Earth. This collision is believed to be the reason why Earth possesses unique characteristics such as plate tectonics. The impact cracked open Tiamat, causing it to condense into a vacuum of space and transformed it into the smallest sphere possible. This process is similar to the behavior of liquid in the absence of gravity, as observed when astronauts release it from packages at the space station. Zachariah Sitchin, a Russian-born historian, conducted studies and translations of cuneiform tablets recovered from the Mesopotamia, modern-day Iraq, in the 1960s. He believed these tablets contained ancient mythology, including information about a celestial body called Nibiru, which he identified as an actual planet. In 1976, Sitchin published his findings in the book The Twelfth Planet, the first installment of his six-planet series, The Earth Chronicles. He further explains that the tablets, along with the Sumerian mythology, contained knowledge of cosmic phenomena that should not have been known to the ancients. For instance, during that period, people couldn't observe Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto without the aid of telescopes, as they were too distant. These planets were later discovered by European and American astronomers in the late 18th century. However, Sitchin found references to nine celestial bodies, excluding the Earth, Sun, and Moon, which means that the ancient Sumerians had knowledge not only of Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn, but also of Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Additionally, they knew of Nibiru, an entirely unseen planet. For Sitchin, the title includes the Sun and the Moon and the planets, resulting in a total of 12 planets in the solar system. It is worth noting that he admitted the other known moons of Jupiter and Saturn. The question arises, how did the ancient Sumerians possess this knowledge without advanced technology at their disposal? This intriguing mystery leads to fascinating exploration. When the Anunnaki discovered a vast amount of metal on Earth, they aimed to mine and extract it, transporting it to their home planet for their use. This is why gold holds such reverence and awe, as it was mined and taken to the heavens by the gods, these extraterrestrial beings. Our religious traditions carry references to significant and precious metals and stones due to this history. The Anunnaki's technology advancement might have affected their ozone layer, leading them to recognize the importance of gold in protection against radiation, similar to how NASA uses it on spacecraft. As the need for gold grew, urgent and hybrid slaveries, the Homo Sapiens, was created to alleviate the toil of their Anunnaki working in the mines. And the Lord said, because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done, altogether according to the outcry against it, and that has come to me, and if not, I will know. This is the passage the Lord portrayed to the flesh and the blood being, not human. And the Lord said, because the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grave, I will go down now and see whether they have done, altogether according to the outcry against it, and that has come to me, and if not, I will know. In this passage the Lord is portrayed as a flesh and blood being, not human. If we take the Bible literally, this being could be an extraterrestrial, as the alternative explanation that it is a non-human entity. If God is to believe to be beyond this world, then, by definition, God is an extraterrestrial. Ancient people lacked the vocabulary and understanding of modern technology, leading them to describe what they witnessed using symbolic language. Descriptions of beings with faces of bears, bodies of lions, and wings like eagles were their way of portraying unfamiliar entities. Likewise, they had no words for airplanes, helicopters, or spaceships, describing them instead as chariots and clouds. For example, the first contact at Mount Sinai is depicted as Yahweh descending on the mountain in a cloud that produced smoke and fire, as ancient people struggled to articulate the encounter.
