It is only when we begin to recognize that the only really good thing in us is what Jesus has done and we begin to recognize His Spirit and gifting in other peoples live that we can begin to Honor. This releases His blessings in them and in us. Honor is not natural to us, we must learn to respect and appreciate and somehow this is the pathway to blessings for us.

Brothers, welcome to another Friday, May the 12th, 2023, where we've been covering the privileges and responsibilities of sons of the Most High God. What an honor to be considered his children. We had a couple of weeks back, behold what manner of love our Father has given unto us that we might be called his children. And so this is such an honor and a privilege on our part. And yet as a son grows, as a daughter matures, the responsibility of the family rests on the younger one as they grow older. And as they mature to the level of their maturity, a good father will delegate the responsibility and will teach methods and culture. So today, one of the things of culture of the kingdom of the family that we're going to be addressing, last week we addressed, and the week before, a mouth prepared by the fire of God, by filling ourselves with the word of God, with removing deceit and guile from our lips. Many different ways the Lord dealt with us, including myself individually, so that we can be challenged to look up higher. Amen. So today's subject is about honor, a pathway, giving honor. We like to receive honor, but giving honor. Is giving honor a pathway to God's blessing is a question we want to be looking at tonight. And so let's just begin and look at different verses in the Bible, just love to take to the word of God, rather than teaching what I think that I learned, well, maybe the word of God has something powerful to say to us that will save me all my teaching time, because the word of God will say it better. How about Mark chapter 10, verse 35 to 40, there's a couple of individuals seeking honor, and yet out of this comes some truth of the pathway to receive honor. Mark chapter 10 verse 35, and James and John, the sons of Zebedee came unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire. And he said unto them, what would ye that I should do for you? They said unto him, grant unto us that we may sit one on thy right hand and the other on thy left hand in thy glory. Verse 38, but Jesus said unto them, ye know not what ye ask, can ye drink of the cup that I drink of, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized? Verse 39, and they said unto him, we can. And Jesus said unto them, ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of, and with the baptism that I am baptized, without shall ye be baptized. Verse 40, but to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not my power, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. Praise God. Brother Zebedee, do you want to answer the question for him? What do you find here regarding honor? Reverend, thank you very much. You're welcome. For me, the mother of these two young guys loves to be celebrated. She enjoys being honored, so she was seeking an opportunity for her children to be celebrated. One of the things I was in doubt about, these two children were seeking a space for their children to have some honor. A position next to Jesus. Wow. Every mother is so wonderful that she thinks her children are the best. Yes, yes. Mothers are wonderful like that. But her method was misaligned. It was not, amen. Brother Faber, anything more? What do we see here about the path to honor? The mother was misdirected. Does Jesus give a better pathway to honor? Reverend, yes. I see the master saying, he says, if I'm correct, that's Matthew 20 or Mark 10? Mark 10. There's two places and you're correct. I think it's Matthew 21, but Mark 10, 35 to 40 is the one that we're currently looking at. You know, I'm particularly caught by the verse in verse 40 of Mark 10, where the Lord Jesus says, but to seek on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared. So it redirects our mind and it gives us an insight into kingdom honor, how that it comes. It's not something we arrogate to ourselves. It's not something we take, you know, by force, put on ourselves. There is a kingdom principle. There's a kingdom protocol for which honor is best stored on a person. And I think, as I say this now, the Lord Jesus, in a number of places in his words, he gave us an insight. He said, if any of you would be chief, you should first be a servant. So I'm thinking he was redirecting, just like you said, the mother of James and John. Their mother was actually, she had a good interest, you know, a good interest for her sons, but she was not properly aligned. And so the Lord Jesus kind of says, all right, there is a principle, there's a process to this, you know, tries to set her mind, you know, realign her mind. That's what I see in that verse. And as I, as I look at it, I'm also, I'm also put to remembrance about the other places where he has talked about how that we can be recipients of kingdom honor. And one of the principles that he mentioned is that for anyone to be chief, recognized or, you know, honored, so to say, it's not something the person just says, okay, I want to be like an election or something, or, you know, combating for votes. He says, no, you have to first abide by the minister. And then the honor comes. You are not serving with the mind that, okay, as I serve, I will be honored. No, you're just serving. And then the master rewards you out on the deity as he chooses. Good. All right. Emmanuel, do you see another point in there that you would like to add? You're welcome. Brother Emmanuel. Yes, I'm here. Thinking about it and looking at the scripture, I saw that for us to attain honor, we must be submissive and be ready to serve because Jesus was asking them, will you be able to do this? Will you be able to do that? I see it more as, will you be able to humble yourself to go through the training that would, you know, give you the opportunity to come to a place of honor? Will you be able to humble yourself? Will you be able to serve? Will you be able to bring yourself calm, low, and follow the training process? So that is what I see in that scripture. Praise God. Good. And a good example of that is the life of Elisha, who served in Elijah's room, it says, all the days until they crossed the Jordan and Elijah up into heaven, sorry, and he left his mantle, a double portion, unto Elisha. Elisha comes out from the Jordan in a power of Holy Spirit. It was the beginning of the real ministry of Elisha. First, he had the ministry of being a servant to the man of God. And his next service was to lead all of the schools of the prophets as the one who would succeed Elijah. In the pathway, there was another servant who didn't make that same pathway and that was Gehazi, some people say. He became bored or he became self-interested. He didn't continue to serve humbly and obediently. He had better ideas than his master and soon he made great errors. And in his great errors, he ended up disqualifying himself from the same position, possibly, that he would have been offered by the Lord in the pathway to that position. One thing about honor is the pathway to that position is through servanthood. And the other point in Mark chapter 10, Jesus is talking about a cup. The cup which I drink and the baptism which I am about to be baptized with. Are you able to drink it? Are you able to endure that baptism with which I am baptized? It's a question Jesus asked them. Those who are seeking honor, Jesus asked this question. Brother Faber, how does that tie in to the pathway to honor them? Yes, sir. So it ties just like I had earlier mentioned. The Lord Jesus says, the one who must be chief, the one who must be chief among you, he should first be a servant, right? So that gives us an insight into the pathway of honor. I think there's a further point, though, Brother Faber, regarding suffering. Sir? Well, I think Jesus, with the cup that he's talking about, is the cup of dying to himself. Oh, yes, regarding the suffering. And suffering, yes. Okay. Is there any connection to the suffering that came through Jesus' obedience and the honor? Yes, sir. There is. Sorry. It's raining. Just in case my voice is very loud, because I have to increase my voice. I'm holding my headset. It's beginning to rain over here. Yeah, you're doing well this time. Yes. So, Brother Scrooge says that the Lord says, I'm trying to remember how he says it in Hebrews, you know, about the obedience, he obeyed the Lord, I remember that. But then also the Bible says, therefore God has given him a name above all other names. Yes. He's talking about how that by obedience and by suffering, the suffering on the cross, the Lord promoted him and gave him a name higher above every other name. And so, we see that the process of suffering is a process of one dying to themselves, stripping themselves of any self-attention, self-importance, of any pride. Because, you know, from scriptures and from what we see, suffering, humility, service, they're all interrelated. They're all connected. Because you have to let go of yourself, and then you will be honored. So, I find them very much connected, Brother. Yes. Good. I was hoping you could bring out that. Hebrews, I think you're thinking about Hebrews 12 and 2. Brother Emmanuel, if you're reading, can you read Hebrews 2, verse 1 up to 3? Brother Gordon. Yes, go ahead. Pastor Xavier, I'm sorry I missed you. Go ahead. I think he was thinking about Hebrews 5, 8. Uh-huh. Thank you, Pastor Xavier. That's the scripture. Thank you for that. Thank you. And I think also Hebrews 12, 1 to 3 complements the Hebrews 5, 8 that you just read, which is exactly the one that Faber was thinking of. Hebrews 12, 1 to 3. Wherefore, seeing we also are encompassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which does so is set us, and let us run with patience the rest that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be worried and faint in your mind. Jesus' pathway to sitting at the right hand of the Father was through the cross, through dying to himself, and through completing the mission that he had been given. So, we understand this clearly, the pathway to being given honor. But our subject today is just a little different than being given honor. It's actually the power of giving honor, and the effectiveness in our ministries and in our life of giving honor, rather than refusing to give honor. I'm trying to think of the opposite. Rather than using our words to exalt ourselves above those around us, so the natural tendency of man would be to refuse to give honor because it might make the other person higher than me. But the whole... Go ahead, Pastor Xavier, please. I think we can term that one as being proud. It's pride. The opposite of honor would, in this context, be pride. Right. And so, would you consider that the mother, James and John, the sons of Zibidi, would she have been motivated by pride or by ignorance? I think according to the scripture, I think she was motivated by ignorance, and I presume that the sons must have shared with her first of the idea in which they are interested. Because the sons are captured having asked Jesus by themselves, and in another instance, we capture the mother asking Jesus on behalf of the son. And I think the sons must have shared with her, since she's a mother, to convince our Lord to make sure that their request can be granted. So, I believe she was convinced by the son, and out of ignorance, she had to defend her children. So, Brother Daniel, perhaps they thought, James and John thought they knew Jesus' secretary, and they went through their mother. Okay, enough fun for today. But it's so beautiful to see the mother's desire, but in the same time, her ignorance, not knowing the pathway to honor, humility, obedience, servanthood, and even that suffering, being willing to endure suffering in order to, for the joy set before him, he endured the cross. Amen. This giving of honor is something that we need to fully understand, because our pride holds us back. What is the verse that says, Let each esteem other better than themselves. This one, this one has been too difficult for me. For too many years, pride kept me from esteeming, how would you define, esteem others? How would you define that? Brother Xavier, your microphone is open. Define for us an example, even, of what does it mean to esteem another? I think to esteem another is, according to my own English, which is not too much, is giving preference. In case an opportunity arises, and say, we have, like, right now we have five participants on the Zoom, and we have only four oranges to share amongst ourselves, who of us would be able to say, oh, let the four get, I will allow brother Gordon to get, brother Emanuel to get, brother Faber to get, and brother Zebedee to get. And if another opportunity arises itself, I will also have. I think that is esteeming others before myself, giving preference. No matter how big the opportunity is, no matter how, I mean, how precious whatever has come is, for example, we go to a function, and there are a few chairs, and the chairs are less by one. I mean, it must be in my heart. Another example is, like, we are on the queue for food, and, you know, you give space for another, you give preference. That is how I can explain esteeming another before myself. So it's a matter of importance. How important am I compared to how important are they? I'm in the queue, already I'm hearing the spoon hitting the bottom of the pot. Am I going to push someone in front of myself? Am I more important? Am I more important than you? Regarding somebody else, respecting somebody else, this is something that must be given. So as sons of God, we begin to be instruments of the power to release honor, to release respect, to release love. It's a manner to release love towards someone unlike any other. You know, when I stand in front of someone in the line, and they may not receive anything, but I will, I have placed myself more important, more valuable. Do I value that other person equal and more than myself? How can this be given? And how is this even possibly a pathway to my own blessing? It's been time for you to think. How is giving honor a pathway to receiving my own blessing? The mic is still open, you're welcome. If that is my question, I would say I have a verse captured in the book of Galatians around chapter 6 and it says, do not be deceived God cannot be mocked. What a man soweth, the same shall he reap. So if I sow honor, for example in brother Emmanuel, in brother Gordon, I have sown a seed. It may not be a tangible or physical seed, but I know that by God's power, that seed must germinate. And at a certain time, the right time of God, I will have a harvest of what I sowed. Most of the people who have been humble enough, for example, our Lord Jesus Christ, who was humble enough, humble to endure the shamest type of death. Because I have captured some teachings which show us that our Lord was crucified naked on the cross. And the Bible says, therefore, God has highly exalted him. So according to the way we study English, the word therefore denotes that there are a number of reasons above. That's why we use the word therefore. Because Jesus sowed obedience and humility, therefore, he had to have a harvest of his own honor which was getting his name glorified highly exalted above each and every other name. Why? Because no creature, no human, no nobody who had sowed to the level that he did. Because even though he was the son, he learned obedience even through suffering. He despised the shame, shame was there but because of the joy and the glory that was set before him he said, let me endure this shame because there is a harvest. So I believe that when we choose to prefer to say we are all hungry but let my brother go first we are all hungry, it is time for all of us but let them go first. We have chosen to prefer our brother and we know that at the right time we are going to have the harvest. Thank you, Brother Pastor, that's well said and on the mark. Hallelujah. In what ways, you're talking about actions but let's consider the subject we've had for a couple of weeks being God's mouthpiece and using our words to bestow honor using our words to bestow honor speaking words that honor someone else that respect, that give regard to how could we use our mouths and maybe how do we fail to use our mouths. David, as you just joined, if you already have a comment, you're welcome. Good evening, Reverend my dear brother. I'm sorry I am late. I seriously just got back from work so late and I pray I didn't miss a lot. How to use our mouths to bless others. Somewhere in the Bible I think 1 Peter so the Bible says whatever that proceeds out of our mouth, let it be fountains of living water. Let it be pure. As a child of God, as if God doesn't expect anything negative from us. He wants us to speak his mind. He wants us to create by his spoken word. Just like how he created the world that we live in by his spoken word. God expects us to reciprocate his being that is in us basically. Anyone else with a comment on that before we go to some other scriptures? I want to have a simple comment. I believe we can use our words to honor other people and we can fail to use our words to honor them. But before I fail to use my words, I have already failed in my mind by failing to understand that I'm not honoring my brother or my sister because of who they are. Because it is captured already that our flesh profits nothing. It is the spirit that gives life. So if we first understand that because we are children of God, he is she is a child of God like me. There is a spirit of the living God in him or her. Therefore, in case they need any form of recommendation, in case there is an opportunity for me to welcome them or introduce them, I will use my words seasoned with salt because I know in the inside of my brother, in the inside of my sister is the Holy Spirit of the living God. So as I'm introducing him or her, I'm not introducing him because of who they are because of their PhD, because of their height or size. I'm introducing them because of who they accommodate. So it depends upon I think the understanding and the value of which you give the spirit that dwells on the inside. So in so doing, if any opportunity arises to welcome my brother, to welcome my sister to give a recommendation, I will give it as though I was giving a recommendation to a real child of God. So we can use our words to give honor. We can fail to give honor using our words, but the failure begins in the understanding of who our brethren are. Thank you. Based on the fact that they are also children of God in a general sense, meaning that we are all all who live on this earth have a value as a child. The Constitution for the United States as much as it's been misused and broken in its original intent states that we are free people because we are God's people. We are created by a creator equally important. And so it protects the rights and the values of each and every person having value. Amen. However, the one question that comes up is that there are some in the church even should be given double honor. So a matter of position someone been placed by God should be highly exalted. How do we balance? Where should we give honor, Brother Faber? Where should we give honor and where should we not give honor according, you know, the basis is all people are children of God and should receive honor. But those, the scriptures teach us that some should be honored even above others. How is that so, Faber? A difficult question, but I'm sure that you can attack it. I have confidence in you, my brother. I honor you as someone who can answer this question well. Thank you, Trevor. I'm going to try the best I can to be precise with what I want to say and then to also make a connection to what I would have said from scripture, you know, when you ask how we can honor people and how we can honor others. Okay. And a number of scriptures found out, and I'm also going to tie it to the question how we can give somebody double honor. You know, as I boot on these things, I find it First off, I find that anyone who is submissive unto the Lord, who is submitted to the Lord, would not have a problem with honoring somebody else. Anyone who is submitted unto the Lord, and it's also in scripture, I'm probably going to preface that, but anyone who submits himself unto the Lord would not have a problem honoring somebody else because Paul writes and he says, it's God who worketh all in all. So, he won't have a problem honoring somebody else. However, just like you said, Trevor, there are people who are worthy of double honor. So, let me start this way. I think about, I think in scripture, I think it was John 6 and a number of places where the people were coming to the Lord Jesus and they had, there was meat for bread. The bread had finished. On two occasions, the Lord would cause a miracle of feeding 5,000 and He would feed 4,000. And so now the people wanted to come, they had some meat and all of that. They came to, they wanted to come to, they came to Philip first. Now, Philip was already amongst the 12 but I find it interesting and I find it very honorable and passionate of him that he went to Simon Peter first. He said, Simon, this is it, this is it. And then Simon went to the man. Now, Philip was already among the 12. But he could, he honored Simon Peter as having an understanding of what the master would, you know, having an understanding and also a way with the master. He could, he saw that with Simon Peter and he saw that, okay, I respect that, I honor this. You have a way with the master. So, he went to Simon first. And this is something that if we are submitted unto the Lord, we can find amongst our brethren, we can find amongst church leaders, amongst brethren in the church, there are people who have way with words. They are very good, they can, they can bring the right encouragement at the right time. And so, if you're going to see a bereaved person or you know, somebody who suffered a loss or something, you don't need to, you don't need to, you don't need to say, okay, I'm going there to pray or I'm going there to preach and yes, it may be good, but there are people who have the gift of wisdom. There are people who have this gift of communicating and communicating well. And so, you take that person along. You say, I recognize the gift of God in your life in this area. It doesn't, it doesn't, it doesn't undermine the gift of God in your own life. But you see, you recognize the gift of God in that person's life for that particular situation and you get them on board. And so, I think anyone who submits himself before the Lord would not have a problem honoring others. I think about another scripture. John the Baptist, at the time, everybody knew him. He was probably the most revered prophet in the land at the time. And then he was talking about the Christ. He said, I must decrease, but he must increase. I must decrease, but he must increase. And so, he So, there's one more incident in Scripture I'm trying to remember. So, what am I saying? I'm saying all of this to say that honoring somebody else is recognizing the gift and the grace of God upon their life. However, we should also be very careful so as not to run into the sin of flattery. You know, and exaggeration. Yeah. Sometimes we may say, oh yes, I recognize the gift of God in your life. You're a wise man. You're this or that. We're just saying all of those things from our lips. There's no conviction in our hearts. And that's a sin. But where we in the events where we have seen on more than one occasion we have seen the gift of God manifest in this person's life in these ways, you know, we we are to honestly in all humility, honor them and honor them for the gift of God in their life, you see, and the working of the grace of God. So, I'm just going to make a couple of references to Scripture and then I think I would hold on for somebody else. But in the Philippians chapter 2 verse 3, one of the Scriptures that Reverend, you know you have shared over the years, and it's you know, it's the Scripture that talks about the Lord Jesus making himself of no reputation. But verse 3, the chapter, rather the chapter that talks about that, but verse 3 of Philippians 2, yeah, it says let nothing be done through strife of vain glory. And I love how Paul says that in a sentence. He says, let nothing be done through strife of vain glory. When people, when we find ourselves not submitting to the Lord we find, and then we find ourselves not easily honoring somebody else, we would realize that we are struggling with ourselves. And sometimes you will find, you see people are trying to strive because because they really don't want to recognize or honor somebody else. So, they're striving with themselves. They're striving there's this conflict with themselves. There's this, there's this chase after vain glory. And it doesn't work anything. But Paul says, but in lowliness of mind, let each esteem other better than themselves. In lowliness of mind. In lowliness of mind. Okay, this person is, I may be able to, I may be able to organize and bring people together for a meeting and say, okay, I want everybody to come together. We're going to have this fellowship, this conference, but I probably won't be the best speaker for that conference. I may, maybe my gift is to gather people. But I have to recognize the gift of somebody else. I have to recognize the gift of Pastor Savior. I have to recognize the gift of Brother David, or my brother Emmanuel or Brother Kess. I have to recognize the gift and I say, okay, I have these people here I want you to come and speak to them. Now, that way, I'm not putting myself under any pressures. But if I feel, okay, I have gathered all these people, alright, I have to also speak to them so that my, nobody will take my shine. Then I begin to act on that strife. Then I begin to chase after being glory. And then in the end it makes a mess of what I would have, of the results that would have been achieved. And so, Paul says in that Philippians 2-3, he says, let nothing be done through strife or things. But in lowliness of mind, let each esteem others better than themselves. And I find, you know, I find also that, because you said, how can honoring others bring honor into ourselves? One of the questions you asked. Yes. Well, when we honor others, we find that we're walking in humility. It just works that way. One of the most effective ways of walking in humility is to find it where it may not be naturally with us as humans, but it can be easy as long as you submit to the Lord. As long as you also begin to see people in the light of how God sees them, then you will find yourself honoring them. And when you begin to honor people, you find yourself walking in humility, and humility is essential to any divine promotion. Humility is essential to any divine blessing, to God using you. And so that's one way we also get blessings from the Lord. So when we honor others, we begin to get the essential virtue of humility, which is attractive for the Lord, which attracts the Lord unto us. So that's the scripture, Philippians 2, 3, 4 says, but there's another scripture I just want to make reference to. I like the translation. I don't know this translation actually, but it's just here. It says, Romans chapter 12, verse 10, it says, be devoted one another in brotherly love. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. Outdo yourselves in honoring one another. Go the extra mile. Let the person understand. Let the person understand that the place of their gift in your life, the place they hold in your life, just go ahead and let them know. And you said, I remember one other question you asked, and I say this in closing, so I give somebody else room to say something. You have good words tonight, so go ahead. And so, you know, you said, how can we by our words, you know, how can we by our words honor somebody? And you know, this is where honestly, truthfulness comes into play. You can't honor somebody by flattering them. Paul says we should outdo ourselves and honor one another. So how do we do that? It could be by a gesture. It could be by a word. And then there are people, there are people that I will always remember till tomorrow. I will say, oh for the words, this word you spoke to me at so-and-so time has been helpful and is a blessing. I will often remind that person of that. I would often remind that person of how their service, of how a service they rendered to me, a word they spoke to me, an advice they gave to me, or the advice they gave to me occasionally has been instrumental to the success I experienced in my life. See, I try to use those words. I don't try to manufacture words or exaggerate stuff, because that's a sin. But I try to use words that are factual, words that are true, words that reflect the true value I have for them. I try to use those words to communicate how much I honor them, communicate it back to them. And that is very, and that helps them as well to know that their gift, the gift of God upon their lives is actually being used to minister to someone. And so Paul writes and he says, let's do the best we can to outdo ourselves in honoring one another, you know. And then I think I lost the other scripture, so yeah. So I'm going to stop here for now. I'll get the other scriptures I want to share. Thank you very much. There's a scripture that refers to what you're talking about in 1 Corinthians 3. And Paul is asking, what is the source of this jealousy and strife amongst you? Are you not fleshly and behaving, in this translation it says, in such a human way. You are still of the flesh, Paul says. So there's a way of this world and there's a way of our flesh where we, first of all, you have to earn your honor, you have to enforce your honor, you have to impress others of your honorability. It's a continual striving. It's a system of striving. And yet honor in the kingdom of God is given. Honor is also deserved, definitely. But not in the way that the world would deserve it. It doesn't always go to the most handsome or the most beautiful or the best speaker, but it goes, God is the one who looks upon the heart. Something you said, favor, that said what I was trying to say in a much better way. And that was, when we recognize the gift of God upon someone and we validate that and with our words we encourage that. God knows there's enough people who are jealous, competitive, and who will quickly, in very cunning ways, especially in church you would want to be outwardly, grossly antagonistic, but in churches you have to be sneaky in the way that you put other people down. And so you don't look very bad yourself. In the world you could just use every mean to welcome, but in the church you have to be more sneaky. But these are all fleshly ways of honor and seeking position and that. And when we recognize it's the Holy Spirit, it's the measure of faith that's mentioned in Romans chapter 12, which operates it's a given measure of faith which operates a higher level of prophecy. It's a larger amount of faith given for greater miracles, but the faith comes from God. And so as we recognize and we stop exalting man, and we begin to recognize the Spirit of God at work through other people, and we begin to encourage that work through them. Very soon they'll be ministering to us and they'll be blessing us. So in the body of Christ that's one thing. If you build up your body, your body will bless you. If you disregard your body your body will let you down. Same with the church in the body of Christ. As we honor, as we nurture those around us remembering we're of the same body. What are we doing kicking our toe against the wall? We don't need you. Another example of honor. The dishonorable those parts of the body which have less honor. It's amazing how the scripture says that God will give these parts greater honor. The parts which are less esteemed by man. And so as we begin to see through God's eyes a broken sister, a brother that has failed. As we begin to see through God's eyes oh do you not know God is at work breaking that person forming the nature of Christ in them humbling them so that they can be useful. Can we not see the work of God in the life of someone else? And this is the basis this is the basis of our honoree of giving of honor. So when we give honor to a brother sister we're actually giving honor to God. And this begins to release the glory of God. Do you not know that when you curse somebody it actually comes upon your own head? And God wants us to give honor to those parts of the body that are even less honorable and speak the word of the Lord over those encourage those brothers and sisters in a precious way and we begin to develop the body of Christ around us. We begin to strengthen at first when I was running I could only run a short time. My lungs were hurting my feet were giving out. I felt like my back was going to ache but the more that I ran the more my body responded. And so let's use this analogy to understand that it takes time and honor and respect and practice for our brother and our sister to perfect that which God is wanting to work through them. And it takes patience and it takes long suffering sometimes but as we begin to speak words of encouragement prophetic words. You know God will show you the gifting of someone else and you can speak it over them before they realize it. And you can say brother sister I just sense God's gifted you spirit of teaching. The gift of teaching. May God bless you in it. We begin to prophesy over one another truthful words not like you said favor so well. Amen. Somebody else jump in we've said enough on this side. Brother Zebedee I'll give you an opportunity. Pastor Xavier you're next and then Brother Emmanuel if you follow up with that. And then we'll look for our sister Bertha to follow that. Okay. Sorry sir. In a good heart I would like to commend Brother Faber for how he has just explained almost everything well. And I want to use my own words to commend his explanation and more so being I don't want to say being a Nigerian only being a Christian Nigerian you know this thing is practiced very well in Nigeria. They know how to honor. So he has explained it very well and I agree with him. Thank you brother Xavier. Thank you sir. Pastor Xavier is demonstrating giving honor where honor was due. Thank you Pastor Xavier. Brother Emmanuel you're welcome. Praise God. Yes. Tonight is wonderful. One area that still stands out in my thoughts through the teaching is the area that has to do with humility in service if I would put it that way. I believe it's a very key area and it's very important because you have to bring yourself down sort of to be able to serve. That was what my brother said earlier when he mentioned something in that direction. And I thought about it and I said that is very true. For me that is one area that really stood out. Yes I've put in thought the rest of things I've been hearing but that's what stood out for me. We find that as what comes out of our heart is fleshly it's competitive it's dishonoring it's all of these things then we bind ourselves into a fleshly realm. But as we begin to operate with those closest to us husbands with their wives, children with their parents people with their pastors and their spiritual leaders. We begin to rather than the abomination of dishonoring we enter into the glory of honoring and we release inside of our own self rather than discord we release unity. One of the abominations of Proverbs 6 is he that soweth discord amongst the brethren. Discord is the separating of cords is in a rope that's twined together. And there's people that with their mouth just know how to separate people to get this sister against that brother and that brother against that brother. And there's an abomination to it. And there's no honor at all. And when we complain one against another when we cause trouble when I just need it too much brother sister I'm talking about in the church. And only because of experience I would want to address and say these things should not be because we're still in the flesh competing and having jealousy and wanting attention and wanting to be better than and somehow just to cause trauma and drama may the Lord help us the Lord help us to teach in the church to honor to teach in the church speak highly of one another to rejoice when another rejoices to lift up and not tear down. Oh you know Paul Paul pled the people please he said protect unity please please lift up your other brother use your gifts not to lift yourself but to edify and encourage. I only have to say this I did not realize in my own life how often I failed to honor and how in failing to honor I did not release the full potential of some of those around me even my own wife but as I began to learn to encourage to nurture to speak well of never criticize in public and in my own heart cherish and honor and appreciate verbally I saw my wife blossom and I myself just came into a different level of joy of satisfaction flowing of God's spirit so as we can pour out of appreciation and honor and respect and love it's love expressed then we ourselves grow and benefit and blessed. I feel like I feel like I've come up the inspiration path I've exhausted this mission like you know when you finish sharing on the auction and then you go like I just feel like I praise God because when we begin to recognize the spirit of God in someone else and Paul said I know no man after the flesh I believe he's saying I recognize Jesus in you I recognize the potential of God in you oh then we're honoring God you know we see you know when we look at Jesus on his way to the cross I mean that man looked defeated that man looked destroyed that man looked like the Sanhedrin had won and he had been defeated look at that man there's nobody with him he's been forsaken by all he must be a phony oh come on when we see a brother and sister going through the cross experience so that the flesh can be dealt with so that the humility can come let us not be one to add to their pain but let this be like the one Simon who came alongside Jesus and said and was willing to carry his cross to assist him in the lowest point of the dealing of God in him and is walking it out you don't know that at the moment you see a brother and sister at their lowest point we don't know what God has for them and the purpose of the cross that they're dealing with we didn't know the purpose of the the illness and having you been set aside we didn't know the full purpose of God oh but when you prevail and when you come through praise God praise God is anyone understanding what I'm saying there are times in our life that the Lord brings us low and when you see a brother and sister brought low and the word of God says those among you who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness oh let us be a servant unto those as God is dealing with them help them to understand that God is not finished with them yet and so God can begin to use us to recognize his calling upon people begin to honor them and place them in positions they must be we may not be in that spot today but I believe that God is bringing each one of us a place where you will be putting people in positions of spiritual service within the body of Christ and we need to recognize and honor another point very quickly is purity and honor I posted a couple verses from the book of Proverbs and there's many more purity and righteousness bring on I love especially the one in 2 Timothy that if we want to become a vessel unto honor that we have to put aside these things that will contaminate and stain and then we become through purity and sanctification we enter a place of honor and God exalts those who allow him to purify them and they purify themselves don't you know your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit and that God dwells in you you're not your own you've been bought with a price therefore use your body to honor and glorify God so you know we have a few things to share maybe we'll do part B next time and see what everyone responds God bless each one on this evening there's a lot to this I can post my notes and you can dig through them maybe we will continue on next time Father we thank you for tonight we thank you Father for the the heritage we have in your word that we can come to you and come to your word and have fellowship that it will enrich us it will build us up it will get to us from our low points and it will build us up all over again thank you for my lovely brethren in Jesus name Amen Amen Good night everybody Good night Good night all we love you Thank you thank you
