have asked the question whether it was to god or to another person who we can see there are many times when we conversate with a close friend with our children or especially with a loved one and we ask do you or did you hear me often the response is yes i've heard you but again most times they can't even repeat what you have spoken to them to our kids mom we have a directive clean up your room it's time to get up for school take out the garbage put away your toys turn down that awful music and when it doesn't happen or when they don't respond the way we think that they should we ask the questions did you hear me wives husbands significant others we are pouring out our heart to you letting you know how we feel what we're going through or we'll say i took out a hundred dollars for a me day and when they don't flinch you ask them did you hear me so when we ask that question to people that we see every day that we touch every day share space with and we see what their response is then we know whether or not they have heard us the biggest question is does god hear me rest assured god does hear us reverend doctor how do you know well let's get inspired by the word evidence number one taken from isaiah 38 1 through 5 in those days hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death the prophet isaiah son of amos went to him and said this is what the lord said put your house in order because you are going to die and you will not recover hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the lord remember lord how i have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes and hezekiah wept bitterly then the lord came to isaiah go tell hezekiah this is what the lord the god of your father david says i have heard your prayer and seen your tears okay you argue but he was an important person he was a king and that was the old testament all right well let me give you some more old testament isaiah 51 listen the lord's arm is not too weak to save you nor his ear to death to hear your call daniel 10 and 12 then said he unto me fear not daniel from the first day that thou has set thy heart to understand and to chasten thyself before thy god thy words were heard and i came for those words 2nd chronicle 7 14 you know this scripture really well if my people who were called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then i will hear from heaven and i will forgive their sins and will hear their land okay after hearing those scriptures why are we instructed to pray if god does not hear us hmm all right let's do some new testament first peter 3 and 12 for the eyes of the lord are on the righteous and his ears are inclined to their prayer matthew 6 6 through 8 but thou or but you when you pray enter into your closet and when you have shut the door pray to your father which is in secret and your father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly but when we pray use not vain repetitions as the heathen do for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking be not therefore like unto them for your father god knoweth the things that you have need of before you ask him i hope you're reading along in your bibles with me 1st Thessalonians 5 16 rejoice always pray continually Philippians 4 and 6 don't worry about anything instead pray about everything tell god what you need and thank him for all that he has done and that is the new living translations james 5 16 confess your faults one to another and pray for one another that ye may be healed the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous man availed much colossians 4 and 2 continue in prayer and watch in the same with thanksgiving again i ask you if we are instructed to pray what makes you think that god does not hear us okay let's get a balance then the question now is is there a time when god does not hear us well unfortunately there is let's take a look at psalm 66 18 it says if i regard iniquity or gross gross excuse me gross injustice or wickedness in my heart the lord will not hear me micah 4 micah 2 and 4 who hate the good and love the evil then they shall cry unto the lord but he will not hear them he will hide his face from them at that time as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings isaiah 59 and 2 it is your sins that have cut you off from god because of your sins he has turned away and will not listen anymore that is the new living translation so i've given you a lot of scriptures proving that god does indeed hear us and the latter showing when he does not i'm hoping that you will continue to investigate other scriptures when he does not hear us i will give you the other scriptures that you can read on your own isaiah 29 and 13 matthew 6 5 through 8 and john 9 31 well reverend doctor how can we make sure that he does hear us psalm 51 1 through 17 this is a prayer that david prayed when the prophet nathan came to him after he had committed adultery with Bathsheba um i trust that you will read that in your um spare time also i would like to leave this scripture with you to ensure that god hears first john one and nine and you know that scripture well it says and this is in the amplified bible if we freely admit that we have sinned and we confess our sins he is faithful and just he's true to his own nature and promises and he will forgive our sins and cleanse us continually from all unrighteousness or our wrongdoing and everything not in conformity with his will and with his purpose in my conclusion i pray that what i
