Tanisha Raza believes that social media can be used effectively in the classroom. She argues that it encourages active learning, is a fun way to learn, and is appealing to the new generation. She gives an example of her child's teacher using YouTube videos, which her child enjoyed and learned from. Therefore, she concludes that certain social media sites should be utilized in the classroom as they can be highly effective. Hello, my name is Tanisha Raza and today I will be discussing whether or not social media should be used in the classroom. My stand on this topic is yes, some social media sites can be very effective in the classroom. Social media can encourage active learning, it's a fun way to learn, and it's what the new generation is into. So it would encourage them to want to participate. For example, one of my kids' teachers uses YouTube videos, Jack Hartman, and she would play the videos and he would come home and turn those same videos on and dance and sing along to the videos, and he would learn and it was just a great experience. So yes, some social media sites should be used in the classroom because they can be very, very effective.
