Aidan Markham scored a century for South Africa, and Jasper Porma picked up 5 wickets. The pitch in Cape Town has sparked mixed opinions, but the match was thrilling and every run counted. The wicket favored the bowlers, but poor batting also played a role in the high number of wickets. Day 1 kicked off with a morning spell where South Africa didn't even make it to lunch and were bundled out for 55. Siraj was the start with 6 for 15. India looked to build a monster lead and were on track at 153 for 4, leading by 98 when they astonishingly lost 6 for none, with some great bowling and unbelievable fielding. Aidan Markham was the only South African to provide resistance with a terrific 100, as it was Jasper Porma's turn to pick up 5. Plenty has been said about the pitch in Cape Town, and I've got mixed opinion. Obviously nobody wants the match to be finished in a day and a half, but for those who did watch, it was thrilling cricket. I found this match far more entertaining than watching a flat track where batters fill their boots. Every run counted, where any ball could have been the batter's last. The wicket clearly favoured the teamers, but wasn't the only reason for the match full of wickets with some poor baying. Let me know what you guys think.
