Haftarah Portion for 08/19/2023

In Ezekiel chapter 47, Yahweh explains the borders of the land that will be inherited by the twelve tribes of Yisrael. Each tribe will receive an equal portion, including two portions for Yoseph. The borders extend from the north to the great sea, and from the east side of the sea to the south side near Meribah. The west side is marked by the great sea. The land will be divided among the tribes, including both the native-born and the strangers who live among them. Ezekiel chapter 47 verses 13 through 23 Thus said the master Yahweh, This is the border by which you inherit the land, according to the twelve tribes of Yisrael, two portions for Yoseph, and you shall inherit it, each one the same as his brother. For I have lifted my hand in an oath to give it to your fathers, and this land shall fall to you as an inheritance. And this is the border of the land on the north, from the great sea, the way of Hephaelon, as one goes to Sidad, Hamath, Barothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damasic and the border of Hamath, Hazar, Hatzikon, which is on the border of Hauran, and the border shall be from the sea to Hazar, Enan, the border of Damasic, and on the north toward the north is the border of Hamath, this is the north side, and the east side is from between Hauran and Damasic and Gilad, and the land of Yisrael, the Yarden, from the border to the eastern side of the sea you are to measure, this is the east side, and the south side toward the south is from Tamar to the waters of Meribah by Kadesh, along the Wadi to the great sea, this is the south side toward the south, and the west side is the great sea, from the border to the point opposite Hamath, this is the west side, and you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Yisrael, and it shall be that you divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves and for the strangers who sojourn in your midst, and who bear children among you, and they shall be to you as natives born among the children of Yisrael, with you they have an inheritance in the midst of the tribes of Yisrael, and it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger sojourns, there you give him his inheritance, declares the master Yahweh.
