You Shall Be Elevated

We thank you and we give you praise. Father Lord even as we've gathered in your presence to listen to your words. We pray that you touch our hearts that we may be doers of your word and not hearers only. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Let's kindly take our confession from Joshua chapter 1 verse 8. This book of the Lord shall not depart out of my mouth. But I shall meditate in it day and night that I may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous and then I will have good success. Amen. The topic for today's devotion is You Shall Be Elevated. Taken from Genesis chapter 41 verse 37 to 44. Genesis chapter 41 verse 37 to 44 and I read from the King James Version. And the thing was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. And Pharaoh said unto his servant can we find such a one as this a man in whom the spirit of God is. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph for as much as God has shown thee all this there is none so discreet and wise as thou. Thou shall be over my house and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled. Only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph see I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand and put it upon Joseph's hand and arrayed him in the vestures of fine linen and put a goat's chain about his neck. And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had and they cried before him bow the knee and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph I am Pharaoh and without thee shall no man lift up his hand or foot in all the land of Egypt. Amen. You shall be elevated. Dear Christian, are you currently going through a traumatic experience such as financial difficulties, marital problems, academic challenges or any other kind of hardship? Have you ever found yourself questioning the existence of God and asking why you are going through such trials? Do you feel like your struggles are a sign that your faith is weak or insufficient? If so, you are not alone. It's understandable to have these questions and doubts when we are facing difficult circumstances. As believers, we may wonder why God allows us to suffer and why we must endure such pain. However, it's essential to remember that hardships and struggles are part of the human experience and they do not necessarily reflect a lack of faith. Instead, we can find peace in knowing that God is in control and can work all things together for our good even the challenging circumstances as mentioned in Romans chapter 8 verse 28. We see this exemplified in the life of Joseph. He was sold into slavery by his own brothers, wrongly accused of a crime and imprisoned for years. However, despite these trials, he remained steadfast in his faith and used his gift to serve others. God ultimately elevated him to a position of power and influence not because of his own effort but because of God's grace and power. It's important to note that God does not promise us a life free of difficulties. In fact, Jesus himself said in John chapter 16 verse 33 that in this world we will face trials and tribulations. However, we can take heart in knowing that God has overcome the world and that he is with us always. So, if you are going through a tough season, don't give up hope. Lean into your faith and trust that God has a purpose and a plan for your life. Even in the midst of your struggles, remember that your experience can be used for good both in your life and in the lives of others. It's essential to keep in mind that God's idea of exaltation may look different from what we expect. We may not be elevated to positions of power and influence like Joseph but we can be exalted in other ways such as through personal growth, spiritual maturity, and the impact we can have on the lives of those around us. Therefore, let us put our trust in God, seeking his will for our lives and surrendering to his plan. We can be confident that in his perfect timing and in his own way, he will exalt us. For the righteous will face numerous hardships and challenges but the Lord will rescue them from each and every one of them and surely elevate them in his own timing. Amen. We take our memory verse from Psalm 34 verse 19, many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord delivered him out of them all. Amen. Beloved, let's share a word of prayer. Father in the mighty name of Jesus, we thank you for your word that brings life and that brings hope unto us. Lord Jesus, we are praying for that man or woman who is going through a tough season at the moment. We are praying that that person will be filled with hope that there will come a time that he shall be elevated out of his miseries and troubles through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
