Three friends, Alpha, Beta-1, and Beta-2, are reviewing the book "The Color of My Words." They discuss whether it is a good book to read in a classroom and agree that sharing thoughts and connections makes it more interesting. They also talk about how reading together supports literacy and helps them stay connected. Beta-1 likes the subtle signs in the book that create suspense, while Beta-2 appreciates hearing others' opinions and understanding. They both agree that the book lacked suspense initially but had a plot twist towards the end that made it more interesting. Overall, their opinions about the book were mixed. I'm Alpha. I'm Beta-1. I'm a Beta-2. And we're reviewing the book, The Color of My Words. So, Beta-1, was this a good book to read with a classroom? Like, in my opinion, yeah, because, like, we were able to share our own thoughts and connections, which, in my opinion, made it, like, more interesting. That's understandable. Thank you. How about you, Beta-2? Just as Beta-1 said, everyone's thoughts gave me, like, a better perspective on things the book wrote. Sometimes, I don't think too deeply about subjects the books are talking about. So, like, hearing everyone else's, like, opinions and understandings, like, makes me see other things. True. There's a stage. Reading together through school supports students developing literacy and gives you both a chance to stay connected as you grow more independent. Without spoiling, what would you say was your favorite part of the book, Beta-1? Like, I like all the subtle signs of the upcoming events, which made me want to read the book even more, which, in my opinion, I like, since, like, lots of books aren't like that, you know? Yeah, I agree. I find it, like, hard to keep reading a book that I don't actually, like, want to read. So, suspense helps me actually, like, turn the pages and enjoy the book. So, what was your guys' brutally honest opinion about the book? Okay, like, I will be honest, like, I did not enjoy the book at all. It made me, like, sleepy and all that. Yeah, like, there was nothing interesting happening. I don't think there was any suspense in the book that wanted to, like, you know? It just made me keep reading. Exactly. Like, when the teacher would, like, tell us, like, Yay! Time to pick out this book! There was nothing to talk about. Yeah, but, you know, more towards the end, it was, like, whoa. Yeah, I honestly look forward to reading that book. Yeah. But, like, right when we got to the end, That part. Yeah, because there was actually a lot of stuff that was, like, you know, it's the middle of the book and it's already, like, addressed all the problems and all the things they're going to try to solve in these next parts towards the end. Oh, man. Oh, man. No, like, I like the plot twist. Like, I did not see that coming at all. Oh, yeah! It made it more interesting. I think that's the only thing that made me, like, want to keep going. I'm like, what's going to happen next? Yeah, I know. And, like, we're not going to, like, spoil it or anything, so it's just, like, kind of, like, you just have to, like, find out. Okay. Okay.
